Successful Online German-Ukrainian Collaboration Workshop: Advancing Research and Education

On December 6th, Institute for Multiphase Processes hosted a online German-Ukrainian collaboration workshop led by Professor Glasmacher. The virtual event brought together participants from three Ukrainian universities, international students, and distinguished invited speakers.

Despite the online format, the workshop maintained its dynamic nature, offering a rich agenda with insightful presentations. Professor Glasmacher delivered a warm welcome and an overview of current projects between Ukrainian partners and the Institute of Institut für Mehrphasenprozesse (IMP). Professor Avrunin shared valuable insights into joint projects between the BMI Department at KNURE and IMP LUH.

Dr. Maksym Tymkovych from KNURE presented on the development of a Virtual Cryo-Lab, discussing challenges, successes, and future directions. The agenda also featured talks on modern video technologies for open educational resources, nanobiomaterials research, and the integration of scientific research with student learning.

In the afternoon, both invited speakers and students engaged in captivating presentations. Dr. Ramone De Jesus Risco Delgado addressed solutions to current challenges in cryopreservation, while Nicolas Rivoallan explored tissue engineering of osteotendinous and myotendinous junctions. Student presentations covered diverse topics, including in vitro calcification and creating video content for an Open Educational Resources (OER) project.

The online setting did not diminish the workshop's success, as it provided a platform for meaningful discussions, networking, and the exchange of innovative ideas.

We express our gratitude to Professor Avrunin and Professor Glasmacher, all speakers, participants, and organisers Oleksandra Hubenia and Lukas Tilch for their invaluable contributions to the success of this online workshop. We eagerly anticipate continued collaboration and the exploration of new opportunities in the future.
