NETZSCH Biomedical Engineering Lab at the IMP: Long-term cooperation between IMP and NETZSCH launched

The Institute of Multiphase Processes (Institut Für Mehrphasenprozesse, IMP) at Leibniz Universität Hannover and NETZSCH-Gerätebau GmbH have entered into a long-term cooperation to advance research and material characterization in the field of biomedical process engineering.

The NETZSCH Biomedical Engineering Laboratory at the Institute for Multiphase Processes (NBE Laboratory IMP) is involved in various research projects, including 𝗿𝗵𝗲𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗯𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗹𝘂𝗶𝗱𝘀, 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗶𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀.

Special attention is given to the joint organization of courses: Students have the opportunity to gain practical experience at the interface between biomedical engineering and materials characterization in the NBE Lab IMP. In recent months, the first courses such as "Medical Process Engineering" and "Tribology II" have been jointly organized. The research results, both rheological and tribological, have been presented in journals and at conferences.

The team around Prof. Dr. Birgit Glasmacher, Gesine Hentschel, Dr. Christina Winkler, Sabrina Küspert (PhD), Dr. Rebekka Taubmann, Dr.-Ing. Florian Pape, Dr. Belal Nassef, Dr. Ligia Souza and Florian Rummel is looking forward to further cooperation and contributions in these highly interesting and essential research areas.
